In this article, you will learn how to create a recycling deposit and assign it to a product.

Recycling deposits allow you to apply an additional charge for items such as bottles or packaging. Setting this up correctly ensures accurate pricing and compliance with local regulations.

11 STEPS

1. When you are in the Settings of DISH POS, navigate down the list and find Recycling deposit. You should now be able to see the option to Create new recycling deposit, please click on it to proceed.

2. You will now be asked to fill in the details. In the first input field, type the name of the Recycling deposit. In this example we use Plastic Bottle.

3. In the Price field, please set the price for the recycling material.

4. Now simply set your VAT in the drop down field as promppted. In this example it's 9% - Low

5. Now please Click on Create to proceed.

6. You have created a Recycling Deposit. Now you can navigate to Menu Management and assign the Recycling deposit to a product.

7. In the drop down menu, please click on Products.

8. Select the product you wish to assign your Recycling Deposit to and click Edit.

9. Once you are in the Edit section, scroll down in the Recycling Deposit drop down and click on the Recycling Deposit item you created earlier. In this example we use Plastic Bottle.

10. You have now learned how to create and assign a Recycling Deposit, simply click on Save to implement changes.

Create a new recycling deposit

Access Settings

Log into your DISH POS Backoffice. From the main dashboard, navigate to the left-hand sidebar and click Setting.

Navigate Recycling Deposit 

Scroll down within Settings until you reach the Recycling Deposit section. To create a new Recycling deposit, click Create new recycling deposit.

Add Recycling Deposit details

In the screen:

• Enter a Name (e.g. Plastic Bottle)
• Set the Price for the deposit
• Select the applicable VAT rate.

Finalize the Recycling Deposit

Once all details are entered, click Save. The recycling deposit is now ready to use.

Assign a recycling deposit to a product

Access the product list

From the main Dashboard, scroll down and select Products under Menu Management. Find the product you want to update and click Edit.

Assign the recycling deposit

Scroll to the Recycling deposit section. Select the recycling deposit you created from the dropdown list.

Finalize Changes

click Save to apply all the changes.
