In this article, we are going to show you how to create new menu categories and edit existing ones.

Step-by-step instructions

1. The first step, in the Dish Order dashboard, click on MENU.
2. Then select Categories.
3. In this section, you can see an Overview of the existing menu categories.
4. In the overview you can Delete, Enable or Disable selected categories, by clicking on the respective icons.
5. To set up a new menu category click on New.
6. Enter the name of the category, in the respective text field.
7. Select a location the category should be assigned to.
8. Make sure the Status is set to Enable, in order for the menu category to be displayed for the chosen location.
9. Then, select a priority which determines on which position the category will be listed among all other categories.
10. Now enter a description for the category.
11. Then click on Save.
12. Only after having saved your category, it is possible to upload an image for it, by clicking on the + icon in the Image section. You will be redirected to the media manager where you have access to your already uploaded images. To add a new image click on upload.
13. Selected the image you want to attach to the category by clicking on it, then click on Attach. The image will be attached to the category.
14. Then, it is possible to edit menu options, by clicking on the Options field. Here you can add options to the category and edit those.
15. When you are finished do not forget to click on Save & Close.
16. To edit an existing category, click on the pencil icon of the desired category. You then are able to edit the settings of the chosen category.
17. When you are done editing the settings, do not forget to click on Save & Close.
