Step-by-step instructions

Getting Started

To begin, open your DISH Guest Marketing dashboard and click Customers in the top navigation bar. This menu houses all the tools you need to manage your customer database. From the dropdown, click Manage to access your full customer list, where you can view, add, and update customer information at any time.

Adding a New Customer

On the Manage Your Customers page, click Add a new customer to begin creating a new profile manually.

Personal Information

Start by entering the customer's first name, last name, gender, and birthday. This information helps you personalize future communications and run targeted campaigns based on demographics or special occasions.

Contact Information

Next, add the customer's mobile number and email address. These details ensure you can reach them through your preferred communication channels.

Address Information

Continue by entering the customer's address, city, ZIP code, state, and country. This data can also support location-based marketing and reporting.

Note

Use the "Extra Notes" field to record any additional details: preferences, special occasions, or anything else that helps you deliver a more personalized experience.

Welcome Bonus and Consent

Before saving, you have two important options to consider. If you'd like to welcome your new customer with an incentive, check the box for “Send a welcome bonus to the customer you are signing up”, a great way to encourage first-time engagement. You'll also need to confirm that the customer has opted in to receive communications from you. This step is required to ensure compliance with privacy and marketing regulations.

Once everything is filled in and confirmed, click Save to add the customer to your database.

Engaging with Customers

Once your customer profiles are set up, DISH Guest Marketing makes it easy to reach out directly from your customer list.

Sending a Promotion

Find the customer you'd like to engage and click Promotion next to their name. In the "Create with AI" screen, describe your promotion idea, target audience, or any specific details you'd like included, the AI will generate content tailored to your goals. Once you've entered your details, click Generate a Promotion to create a draft ready for review.

Sending a Message

Similarly, click Message next to a customer's name to send a direct, personalized communication. Just like with promotions, you can describe your message idea or target audience, then click Generate a Newsletter to let the AI draft the content based on the information you provided.

Editing and Organizing Customer Profiles

Updating Customer Details

To make changes to an existing customer's information, click Edit next to their name in the customer list.

Managing Notes

Within a customer's profile, click "Search notes or tags..." to look up or organize existing notes. Click + Add Note to create a new note, helping you keep track of important details or interactions over time. Once you're done, simply close the Notes window to return to your customer list.

Viewing Customer Stats

Click View stats next to any customer's name to see detailed engagement data: including how they've interacted with your promotions and messages. This insight helps you understand which customers are most engaged and refine your outreach accordingly.

Importing Customers in Bulk

If you already have an existing customer list, there's no need to add each profile manually.

Step 1: Start the Import

Click Import an Excel file on the Manage Your Customers page.

Step 2: Download the Template

On the Import an Excel File page, click "Download the template and paste your list in it." This ensures your data is formatted correctly for a smooth import.

Step 3: Confirm Consent

Check the box confirming that all customers in your uploaded list have opted in to receive communications from you.

Note

Confirming Consent is a required step before you can proceed.

Step 4: Add a Welcome Bonus (Optional)

If desired, toggle the option to send a welcome bonus to the customers you're uploading, a nice way to greet your newly imported contacts.

Step 5: Upload Your File

Click Choose File to select your completed Excel template from your device and upload it (maximum file size: 500KB).

Organizing Your Customer List with Filters

As your customer list grows, filters become an essential tool for staying organized and targeting the right audience.

Showing or Hiding Filters

On the Manage Your Customers page, click Show/hide filters to reveal additional filtering options for organizing and segmenting your list.

Creating a Public Filter

Click Create a new public filter to set up filters based on custom fields collected during customer sign-up. This is especially useful for organizing customers by shared characteristics, such as how they signed up or which promotions they've responded to.

Creating a Private Filter

Click Create new private filter to set up a custom filter where you can assign specific values to individual customers, for example, labeling your "best customers" for special treatment or exclusive promotions.

You're All Set! From adding and editing profiles to importing bulk data, sending personalized promotions, and organizing your customers with notes and filters, you now have everything you need to build stronger relationships with your customers and run smarter, more targeted campaigns.
