Table of Contents
Here is a guide to configuring your automated marketing system.
With the DISH Guest Marketing AutoPilot tool, you can implement an intelligent engine that automatically delivers targeted messages.
Step-by-step instructions
Step 1: Accessing the Autopilot Control Center
To begin your automation journey, navigate to the top bar of your dashboard. Hover over or click on s, and from the resulting drop-down menu, select Autopilot. This brings you directly to the central control panel for your automated marketing communications.
Step 2: Defining Global Incentives
Before activating specific triggers, establish the baseline rewards you want to offer your guests.
- Click on the Edit AutoPilot button on the overview screen.
- A pop-up modal will appear, allowing you to choose the type of incentive attached to your messages. Select from the following options based on your campaign goals:
- Discount (%): Offer a percentage-based price reduction (e.g., 20% off) to entice diners.
- Coupon (€): Provide a specific monetary credit value.
- VIP Perk: Reward your audience with special experiences or complimentary items, such as a free appetizer or meal.
- No bonus: Choose this if your campaign relies strictly on informational engagement without transactional incentives.
- Click Save and Close to lock in your global baseline structure and return to the main engine matrix.
Step 3: Configuring Key Milestone Triggers
The AutoPilot dashboard features pre-built automation blocks designed around critical guest milestones. Once you click on Advanced Customization (expert users), scroll down to manage and customize the following triggers individually:
- The Welcome Bonus: Locate the option to “Give a welcome bonus to customers who sign up to receive your offers”. Click Customize next to Step 1 to choose the milestone-specific bonus type, and click Save event. Next, move to Step 2 and click Edit next to the Email icon to customize your message. Keep your email subject under 120 characters and your text punchy (maximum 500 characters). You can also use the Customize button (CTA) to personalize your interactive button link and Customize the email image to upload a visual. Always click Save, send a test & close to review a preview copy in your inbox before toggling the green switch to Enable the event.
- The Birthday Milestone: Under “Offer a bonus to customers who enter their date of birth,” click Edit. Use the “Landing” email tab to refine the look, layout, and tone of the target screen guests see when interacting with their birthday reward. Save and commit your changes when finished.
- The Profile Completion Bonus: Utilize the block titled “Offer customers a bonus when they enter all of their information in the sign-up page” to actively incentivize guests to share their full data and preferences.
- The Birthday Celebration: Ensure guest satisfaction by tailoring the “Send customers a bonus for their birthday” trigger to automatically deliver rewards right on their special day.
- The Win-Back Net: Configure the block to “Offer a bonus to customers who haven’t received any promotions in the last 30 days” to reconnect with fading subscribers before they forget your business.
- The Immediate Reward: Optimize the “Reward customers who have just made a purchase” trigger to strike while interest is high, automatically encouraging immediate repeat business.
- The Re-engagement Super Bonus: Check the mechanism to “Send a super bonus to customers who haven’t engaged yet with you” to wake up quiet subscribers who frequently skip opening normal emails.
Step 4: Creating Custom Events
If you have a niche milestone in mind that isn’t covered by the pre-built options, scroll to the bottom of the matrix and select Create your own custom event.
- Design Layout: Provide a striking subject line (up to 110 characters). In the designer workspace, utilize the Structure, Content, and Settings tabs to control columns, margins, content blocks, background colors, fonts, and global aesthetics.
- Multi-Channel Integration: Add an image and check the Social post box if you want to mirror your content layout across your connected social media channels. Click Next to proceed.
- AI Content Assistance: On the campaign preview screen, you can review your text or input key topics into the Generate a Newsletter assistant feature to let the platform help write custom marketing prose for you. Click Next when you are satisfied.
Step 5: Audience Targeting and Launching
With your content set, finalize your delivery criteria:
- Filter Your Audience: The platform defaults to your total customer list. Use the Filter section to narrow down targets based on characteristics such as age, gender, sign-up status, loyalty card standing, or app usage. Click Next once your selection is locked.
- Set Campaign Cadence: Choose whether the campaign is a one-time blast (Not recurring) or a recurring event (Repeat every...).
- Legal Authorization: Review the anti-spam privacy terms, and check the acknowledgment box confirming that all recipients have expressly opted in to receive marketing communications.
- Deploy: Click Send message now.
Success! Once deployed, your automated guest marketing framework is fully operational, working around the clock to turn one-time diners into lifelong regulars.
