3. Here on the AutoPilot overview screen, click the orange Edit AutoPilot button to begin configuring your default customer incentives.

4. Next, choose the primary type of perk you’d like to offer across your campaigns. For instance, you can select VIP Perk to provide an exclusive experience or complimentary item.

5. If you prefer giving percentage savings instead, select Discount (%).

6. Alternatively, choose Coupon (€) to offer a direct fixed-amount discount to your guests.

7. After specifying your preferred offer details, click Save and Close to lock in your default incentive settings.

8. Now, click Advanced customization (expert users) if you would like to fine-tune specific automated campaigns individually.

9. Scrolling down, you will see various automated triggers. The first section handles the Welcome Bonus, which automatically incentivizes new guests as soon as they sign up for your offers.

10. Under the Welcome Bonus section, click Customize to adjust the offer specific to new sign-ups.

11. Select your desired welcome perk (or opt for no bonus) and click Save event to update this trigger.

12. Next, click the Edit button on the channel selection bar to customize the actual message content your guests will receive.

13. Click on Customize the email subject to draft an engaging subject line that encourages guests to open your email.

14. Next, click Customize the email text to tailor the message body and refine the tone of voice for your brand.

15. Click Customize button (CTA) to personalize the text displayed on the main call-to-action button inside the email.

16. Scroll down and click Customize the email image to upload or change the banner photo for your campaign.

17. Once you have updated your message, enter your email address and click Save, send a test & close to review a preview in your inbox.

18. You can easily turn any campaign on or off at any time using the Enable or disable the event toggle switch.

19. Scrolling further down, you will find the Date of Birth campaign trigger. This allows you to collect birthdays and automatically engage guests on their special day.

20. Click Edit next to any trigger to modify its specific communication channel and messaging settings.

21. You can toggle between editing the Trigger email (the invitation to share details) and the Landing email (the reward email sent after they provide info).

22. After making your updates, click Save, send a test & close.

23. Scroll down to review additional pre-configured automated campaigns, such as rewards for guests who complete their full profile.

24. Further options include automated Birthday Bonuses to drive repeat visits on your customer's birthday month.

25. You can also engage inactive guests with win-back offers - such as automated rewards for customers who haven't received a promotion in the last 30 days.

26. Additionally, set up immediate post-purchase thank you rewards.

27. Here you can trigger a "super bonus" for contacts who haven't engaged with past emails.

28. If you'd like to create a campaign beyond the pre-set triggers, scroll to the bottom and click Create your own custom event.

29. In the custom campaign editor, enter your Message subject and select dynamic tags (in this example we use Event) to personalize your communication.

30. Use the Content tab on the right side to drag and drop text blocks, images, buttons, or dividers directly into your email body.

31. Switch to the Structure tab to adjust the layout, columns, and overall structural formatting of your message.

32. Use the Settings tab to adjust global design parameters, such as template width, background colors, and font styles.

33. Scroll down through the design panel and click Image to add visuals to your custom email.

34. If you would like to share this campaign across social channels as well, click Social post to draft social media copy.

35. Once your custom content is ready, scroll down and click Next.

36. Check your preview screen to ensure all visuals and text appear correctly.

37. On this screen, you can either click Edit to make further adjustments or Send Preview, a test email to your inbox.

38. If you'd like assistance writing your content, enter a prompt in the text box under Not satisfied? and click Generate a Newsletter to let AI draft message ideas for you.

39. Once satisfied with your preview, click Next to proceed to audience targeting.

40. To target specific customer segments, click Filter.

41. Select your preferred delivery channels, such as sending via e-mail or as an App notification.

42. Refine your audience using demographic filters such as age, birthday month, app usage, or custom customer groups, then click Next.

43. Specify whether this custom campaign is a single blast (Not recurring) or set it to Repeat every... on a scheduled cadence.

Step-by-step instructions

Step 1: Accessing the Autopilot Control Center

To begin your automation journey, navigate to the top bar of your dashboard. Hover over or click on s, and from the resulting drop-down menu, select Autopilot. This brings you directly to the central control panel for your automated marketing communications.

Step 2: Defining Global Incentives

Before activating specific triggers, establish the baseline rewards you want to offer your guests.

  1. Click on the Edit AutoPilot button on the overview screen.
  2. A pop-up modal will appear, allowing you to choose the type of incentive attached to your messages. Select from the following options based on your campaign goals:
  • Discount (%): Offer a percentage-based price reduction (e.g., 20% off) to entice diners.
  • Coupon (€): Provide a specific monetary credit value.
  • VIP Perk: Reward your audience with special experiences or complimentary items, such as a free appetizer or meal.
  • No bonus: Choose this if your campaign relies strictly on informational engagement without transactional incentives.
  1. Click Save and Close to lock in your global baseline structure and return to the main engine matrix.

Step 3: Configuring Key Milestone Triggers

The AutoPilot dashboard features pre-built automation blocks designed around critical guest milestones. Once you click on Advanced Customization (expert users), scroll down to manage and customize the following triggers individually:

  • The Welcome Bonus: Locate the option to “Give a welcome bonus to customers who sign up to receive your offers”. Click Customize next to Step 1 to choose the milestone-specific bonus type, and click Save event. Next, move to Step 2 and click Edit next to the Email icon to customize your message. Keep your email subject under 120 characters and your text punchy (maximum 500 characters). You can also use the Customize button (CTA) to personalize your interactive button link and Customize the email image to upload a visual. Always click Save, send a test & close to review a preview copy in your inbox before toggling the green switch to Enable the event.
  • The Birthday Milestone: Under “Offer a bonus to customers who enter their date of birth,” click Edit. Use the “Landing” email tab to refine the look, layout, and tone of the target screen guests see when interacting with their birthday reward. Save and commit your changes when finished.
  • The Profile Completion Bonus: Utilize the block titled “Offer customers a bonus when they enter all of their information in the sign-up page” to actively incentivize guests to share their full data and preferences.
  • The Birthday Celebration: Ensure guest satisfaction by tailoring the “Send customers a bonus for their birthday” trigger to automatically deliver rewards right on their special day.
  • The Win-Back Net: Configure the block to “Offer a bonus to customers who haven’t received any promotions in the last 30 days” to reconnect with fading subscribers before they forget your business.
  • The Immediate Reward: Optimize the “Reward customers who have just made a purchase” trigger to strike while interest is high, automatically encouraging immediate repeat business.
  • The Re-engagement Super Bonus: Check the mechanism to “Send a super bonus to customers who haven’t engaged yet with you” to wake up quiet subscribers who frequently skip opening normal emails.

Step 4: Creating Custom Events

If you have a niche milestone in mind that isn’t covered by the pre-built options, scroll to the bottom of the matrix and select Create your own custom event.

  1. Design Layout: Provide a striking subject line (up to 110 characters). In the designer workspace, utilize the Structure, Content, and Settings tabs to control columns, margins, content blocks, background colors, fonts, and global aesthetics.
  2. Multi-Channel Integration: Add an image and check the Social post box if you want to mirror your content layout across your connected social media channels. Click Next to proceed.
  3. AI Content Assistance: On the campaign preview screen, you can review your text or input key topics into the Generate a Newsletter assistant feature to let the platform help write custom marketing prose for you. Click Next when you are satisfied.

Step 5: Audience Targeting and Launching

With your content set, finalize your delivery criteria:

  1. Filter Your Audience: The platform defaults to your total customer list. Use the Filter section to narrow down targets based on characteristics such as age, gender, sign-up status, loyalty card standing, or app usage. Click Next once your selection is locked.
  2. Set Campaign Cadence: Choose whether the campaign is a one-time blast (Not recurring) or a recurring event (Repeat every...).
  3. Legal Authorization: Review the anti-spam privacy terms, and check the acknowledgment box confirming that all recipients have expressly opted in to receive marketing communications.
  4. Deploy: Click Send message now.

Success! Once deployed, your automated guest marketing framework is fully operational, working around the clock to turn one-time diners into lifelong regulars.
