Payment Methods - Configuring the Smart Voucher

What is a smart voucher?
A smart voucher is a payment method with predefined limits, such as a maximum redeemable value (e.g., 20€). When a customer uses the voucher, the allowed amount is deducted from the total bill. The voucher can also be used for smaller amounts than the maximum value.
Example:
Your employees receive a 10€ voucher each day for the canteen. When they use the voucher, they can spend up to 20€ in the canteen and also use it for smaller purchases, such as a 5€ item. If the total bill exceeds 20€, the voucher will deduct 20€, and the employee pays the remaining amount.
In this tutorial, we are going to show you how to configure the smart voucher.
Steps to configure the smart voucher
- Go to Payment > Payment method.
- Click on + Add payment method.
- Select Smart voucher as Payment method type.
- Name the voucher.
- Add the maximum value to the voucher.
- If afterwards you need to create an invoice for the vouchers, select Select by User or Pre-selected customer (all payments will be then booked on this predefined customer).
- Click save when you're done.
