How to set special hours for holidays and events?
Table of Contents
Closing for a public holiday? Opening late for a private event? With special hours, you can change your hours for specific dates in a few clicks, without touching your regular weekly schedule.
Once the last date has passed, your standard hours come back automatically. No need to remember to switch anything back.
Where to find special hours
Go to Restaurant > Locations, open your location, and select the Opening Hours tab. Scroll past your weekly schedules (Opening hours, Order time for delivery and Order time for pick-up) until you reach the Special hours section.

Add special hours
- In the Special hours section, click Add special hours.

- Pick a Start date and an End date from the calendar. For a single day, choose the same date in both fields.

- Choose a Type: Closed all day or Custom hours.

- Under Applies to, tick the schedules you want to change: Opening hours, Order time for delivery and/or Order time for pick-up. All three are selected by default.
- Optional: add a Reason, such as "Public holiday" or "Private event". This is only visible to you and your team, not to guests.
- Click Save special hours. You'll see the message Special hours created successfully, and your new date appears in the list.

- Click Save at the top of the page to save your location.

Choose the right type
| Type | Use it when | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Closed all day | You won't open or take orders at all | Christmas Day, annual holiday, refurbishment |
| Custom hours | You're open, but at different times than usual | 12:00–15:00 and 18:00–22:00 on a public holiday |
With Custom hours, you can set more than one time slot for the same day, for example a lunch and a dinner service.
Applies to lets you decide what changes. For example, if you're hosting a private event but your restaurant stays open, you could keep your Opening hours and only change your delivery and pick-up order times.
Edit, delete or look back
All upcoming special hours are listed in the Special hours section with their dates, type and the schedules they apply to.
- Change a date: click Edit next to it, update the details and save.
- Remove a date: click Delete next to it.
- See past dates: click Show past special hours. Past entries are marked Expired and can't be edited. Click Hide past special hours to collapse the list again.
