How can I add and manage promotions on DISH POS?

Jordan Klose Updated by Jordan Klose

In this article, we will show you not only how to add and manage promotions but also what are the benefits of each type of promotion

To manage your promotions, log in to the Backoffice and select the menu Articles. From there go to Promotions which will lead you to the overview of your promotions.

In the overview, you are able to manage as well as create new promotions.

Multiple promotions: The promotions module can work with multiple active promotions. In this case, the module will always choose the most advantageous promotion for the guest.
Example for multiple active promotions
If you are running two promotions, where a hamburger menu costs €8.60 instead of €10.40 for the single items (hamburger €6.30 + softdrink €4.10) and a promotion where the second soft drink is free.

In this case, the system will not create a hamburger menu at €8.60 when a customer orders a hamburger and 2 soft drinks. Instead, it will select the individual products because the promotion of the second free soft drink is more advantageous for the guest.
The total saving for the softdrink promotion is €4.10 and the total saving for the hamburger menu promotion would be only €1.80.

How to add a promotion

  1. Go to the menu item Articles and select Promotions. From there, click on + Add promotion
  2. Enter the name of the promotion
  3. Select the location (store) where the promotion should be active

🎓 Step-by-Step Instructions

What are the benefits of each type of promotion?

How to set up a combo deal

A combo deal is a combination of at least 2 items that will result in a special discount. Those could be either specific items or items of a product group.

For the combo deal, you can choose between a fixed discounted amount, a percentage or a complete new price.

How does it work?
For example: You sell a hamburger menu consisting of a drink, hamburger and fries. When the employee taps these items separately, the promotion module will automatically recognise the combination and applies the discount or set price.

How to set up a ticket discount

A ticket discount applies when a minimum order amount of the bill is reached.

For the ticket discount, you can choose between a fixed discounted amount or a percentage.

How does it work?
For example, when the ticket discount is set to a minumum order amount of €60 and a guest's order surpasses the determined sum, the promotion module will automatically recognise the promotion and applies the discount.

How to set up a quantity discount

A quantity discount, as the name states, is applied when a guest has ordered a certain quantity of an item. Those could be either specific items or items of a product group.

For the quantity discount, you can choose between a fixed discounted amount, a percentage or a complete new price.

How does it work?
For example, for every two softdrinks the guest gets the third one for free. The promotion module will automatically recognise the order includes three softdrinks and sets the third drink free of charge.
